- Panda Update 2011: Google released its first Panda update in 2011. This update permanently removed the strategy of buying, exchanging, and artificially creating links. With this update, a lot of sites lost their presence on the search engines.
- Hummingbird: It was Google’s third update that took place in August 2013. This was released particularly for voice search. Its main purpose was to pay close attention to each word in the query to make sure that the whole search term is included rather than some specific words. It did not give an immediate response but with time Google started to give more answer boxes in the search results rather than people type for a web page.
- Mobilegeddon: The last update was released in 2015. 50% of search queries were done by mobile devices on Google. That is why Google introduced this update to boost the websites that have mobile-friendly pages in the search results.
